Lindley is set to play host to its fourth annual carnival this year and organisers are looking for local people, businesses and organisations to support the event by becoming sponsors.

Sainsbury’s Salendine Nook have already pledged their support by donating £500 to the carnival. Store manager Paul Mitchell said “When we heard that Lindley planned on holding a carnival this year, we couldn’t wait to find the best way to support it. We’re proud to sponsor such a fun event and I know my colleagues can’t wait to be a part of it on the day”.

This year the annual event will be taking place at Fernlea Playing Fields, behind the Black Bull Pub in Lindley on Saturday 25 June 2011, between 1.00pm-5.00pm. The event will be officially opened by the Head Teacher of Lindley Infant School, Sue Drake, who is retiring at the end of the school year.
