OLD POST OFFICE PARKING RESTRICTIONS HAVE OUTSTAYED THEIR WELCOME

A number of Quarmby Residents feel they have been unfairly fined by the council for parking up outside an old post office on their street.  The Quarmby PO (on Quarmby Road) closed around two years ago but the waiting restrictions (no return in 60 mins) that had been put in place to allow people to use the PO have not been removed despite the building have been turned into a residential property.

Cllr Cahal Burke has repeated resident’s calls for the waiting restrictions to be removed and is now waiting for the council’s reply:

Cllr Burke said:

“The Post Office has been closed for a long time now and the reasons for the parking restrictions went with it as far as I’m concerned.  The Parking Wardens are just doing their job, no one should have a gripe with them, but the council should have dealt with this earlier.  I will be making sure something is done.”
