A PLAN FOR JOBS AND HOMES – CORE STRATEGY CONSULTATION

The government has asked each local authority to produce a comprehensive plan called the Local Development Framework, which sets out how much development there should be over the next 18 years, and where it should go.

If we don’t plan how many homes and jobs we need, and where we should make land available, we face the risk of uncontrolled development happening throughout the district. And, if we don’t have a plan which shows where we will allow development in the future, when people apply for planning permission in areas we want to protect, the council will find it very difficult to turn down these applications.

Consultation period now extended to 13th February 2011
