IMPROVEMENTS TO THE PUFFIN CROSSING ON NEW HEY ROAD AT SALENDINE NOOK

I am pleased to inform you that the Puffin crossing on New Hey Road (near Raw Nook Road) is to be improved. The underground ducting will be repaired and the crossing will have new traffic lights and poles. We will also replace the red ‘tactile’ paving to help blind and partially sighted people, and we’ll resurface the road including the red crossing area.

The work is expected to start on 17 January 2011 and will take about two weeks to complete. The work may be delayed if we have more severe winter weather over the next few weeks.

Please make sure that any vehicles belonging to you or your visitors are parked away from the road between 9.00am and 3.30pm whilst work is ongoing. This is because access to the street will be limited.

If you have any questions about the work, please contact Graham Garside on: 01484 222300 or email: graham.garside@kirklees.gov.uk. If you need to make contact outside office hours, please ring Streetscene and Housing on: 0800 731 8765.
