Sainsbury’s Salendine Nook have pledged their support to the Lindley Carnival by donating £500 to the carnival. Store manager Paul Mitchell said:
“All my colleagues involved with last year’s Carnival had such a fantastic time and could really see how much the community loves the event, so this year we didn’t think twice about giving our support and bein…g there on the day. We know this year will be an even bigger success and can’t wait for it!”
Cllr Burke says:
“The Lindley Carnival has now become a focal point of the summer in Lindley; bringing people from all walks of life together to enjoy a day of traditional carnival fun.”
“In addition to all our usual attractions, there will be a range of sporting events and demonstrations this year to mark the 2012 Olympic Games taking place in the UK. We will also be supporting Armed Forces Day which happens to coincide with the carnival this year.”
“As always, we are continuing to seek new backers from the community, like Sainsburys, and looking to recruit new helpers. If any one wishes to find out about the sorts of help we need they can get in touch via our website or by contacting me directly.”
“Thanks must go to the hard working members of the community group. We have now successfully held a carnival every year since it was revived 5 years ago and this is down to the committed work of those involved!”
